Founded by Curt Carlson and Old Log Theatre’s Don Stolz, the Playhouse opened with Woody Allen’s comedy Play It Again, Sam, setting the stage for decades of high-quality productions.
From 1988 to 2017, the Plymouth Playhouse was home to Troupe America Inc.’s iconic Church Basement Ladies under the direction of Curt Wollan. During that time, the show grew into a national phenomenon, leading to hundreds of productions across the country—from regional theaters to national tours.
